Ma’an Camp Project for Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Victims – 2023
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the Kahramanmaraş region in February 2023, the Ma’an Association launched the Ma’an Camp Project in Reyhanlı, Hatay Province, to provide urgent support and relief to affected Syrian families. The camp hosted 100 Syrian families who lost their homes and livelihoods due to the disaster.
Camp Services:
- Housing Support:
The camp was equipped with temporary shelters providing a safe and healthy environment for affected families, addressing their daily needs. - Food Assistance:
Complete daily meals were provided to all camp residents to ensure their nutritional needs were met. - Educational Support for Children:
Organized educational sessions were held for children to ensure continuity in their learning, with a focus on psychological and academic support during this challenging time. - Recreational Activities for Children:
Trips and recreational activities were organized for children to alleviate the psychological impact of the disaster and foster a sense of joy and optimism. - Eid Clothing Distribution:
On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, new clothes were distributed to children and families to bring happiness and a festive spirit to their hearts despite the difficult circumstances.
Project Impact:
- The Ma’an Camp provided a safe and supportive environment for affected families, alleviating their suffering and promoting psychological and social stability.
- Children were gradually reintegrated into normal life through education and recreational activities.
